This project investigates exercise-induced Long QT Syndrome, a condition that can lead to serious heart arrhythmias in athletes. By using stem cell models and statistical analysis, it aims to identify the molecular mechanisms behind this syndrome and improve risk assessment for young athletes.
Regular physical activity is known to be beneficial for health, can prevent cardiovascular disease and reduce overall mortality.
However, high intensity exercise can promote the development of arrhythmias and cause sudden cardiac death.
