The project aims to develop a recombinant human antibody targeting Complement component C5 for treating atypical Haemolytic Uraemic Syndrome (aHUS). Through preclinical studies, it seeks to evaluate the safety and efficacy of this potential orphan drug in addressing this serious condition.
The Complement System is implicated in the onset, maintenance and amplification of tissue damage in several inflammatory clinical conditions.
