The PolymersForSolarFuel project aims to develop sustainable materials for solar-driven hydrogen production from water. It combines knowledge from photovoltaics and polymer synthesis to create a database of photoactive compounds, screening candidates for effective energy storage solutions.
With a steadily increasing demand of the global energy consumption and reliance of geopolitically sensitive sources of energy, such as petroleum and coal, there has never been such an urgency to explore alternative clean, renewable energy supplies.
