This project develops nanoscale conducting wires using hybrid polymer materials with DNA as a scaffold. By modifying nucleosides and utilizing self-assembly properties of DNA, it aims to create complex nanoscale architectures for potential applications in electronics.
In this project we propose to develop conducting nanoscale molecular wires based on hybrid polymer materials.
The concept is to use DNA as a scaffold for the attachment of polymerisable monomer units covalently bound to the DNA nucleosides.
Novel synthetic nucleosides will be prepared for oligomerisation using automated solid phase DNA synthesis.
