SHUTE has developed a novel polymer optic fiber sensor system designed for real-time monitoring of various engineering structures. This system offers enhanced durability and sensitivity compared to traditional silica-based sensors, making it suitable for harsh environments.
Optic fiber (OF) sensors have a widespread use in several industrial sectors, such as construction, wind energy and shipbuilding, to monitor both the structures’ manufacturing process and their overall condition throughout their use, thus improving their quality, reliability, safety and durability and reducing production and maintenance costs.
