The PodiTrodi project seeks to develop integrated point-of-care diagnostic tests for infectious diseases prevalent in areas with limited medical infrastructure. It aims to create a self-contained device that combines sample preparation and analysis for accurate disease diagnosis.
The diagnosis and discrimination of infectious diseases (such as leishmaniasis, dengue, malaria, HIV, chagas) in geographic regions with poor or low-density medical infrastructure is of high socioeconomic importance.
