This research examines brain plasticity following hand amputation, focusing on how the brain reorganizes and the behavioral impacts of this change. Using advanced imaging techniques, the study aims to improve understanding of rehabilitation challenges faced by amputees.
Our brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life is a key mechanism that enables adjustments to novel situations, as well as compensation for nervous system injury.
