This project explores photochemistry on solid surfaces to enhance chemical reactions using plasmonic nanostructures. By achieving atomic-level control over reactions, the goal is to improve the efficiency and selectivity of creating low-dimensional polymers with visible light.
Photochemistry on solid surfaces is a promising candidate for overcoming the current limitations of on-surface synthesis (OSS), including the constraints of metallic substrates, poor spatiotemporal control, and demand for high temperatures.
