PISSARRO focuses on integrating second-order nonlinear optical processes in silicon nitride waveguides for applications in frequency metrology and quantum optics. The project aims to develop devices that enable efficient optical control and broaden operational bandwidth.
Second order nonlinear processes, such as second-harmonic or difference-frequency generation, are key for frequency metrology and quantum optics applications.
The successful integration of such functionalities, consequential of material 2nd order nonlinear susceptibility χ(2), is essential to obtain compact and low power devices.
