PhotoniX is developing a new type of solar-powered fiber laser that converts sunlight into mid-infrared laser radiation. This technology aims to eliminate reliance on electricity for laser operation, making it suitable for both terrestrial and space applications.
PhotoniX aims to revolutionize laser technology by introducing a radically new class of solar-powered, Thulium-doped fiber lasers (TDFLs) that directly convert sunlight into coherent mid-infrared (midIR) laser radiation at 2 µm.
