This project aims to improve shrimp farming practices in India by implementing advanced effluent management systems to reduce environmental pollution. It also seeks to develop intensive rearing techniques for new shrimp species in the EU, facilitating knowledge exchange between European and Indian researchers.
Aquaculture effluents represent a main environmental concern because of their high polluting potential.
While fish farms of advanced countries adopt a medium/high-tech approach to this issue, less industrialised countries rely on low-tech systems, if any.
