This project aims to enhance the sustainability of alkali-activated materials by investigating their ability to immobilize heavy metals from metallurgical slags. It seeks to develop models that predict the performance of these materials in hazardous waste treatment.
It is commonly known that Portland cement production causes tremendous environmental impacts.
In this context, sustainable binders are desired.
