PAMMOTH develops an innovative imaging system combining photoacoustic and ultrasound technologies for breast cancer diagnosis. This non-invasive method aims to improve the accuracy of lesion assessment, reducing unnecessary biopsies and enhancing patient comfort while being cost-effective.
X-ray mammography is the mainstay of breast cancer screening programs.
It is estimated that between 20 - 50% of abnormal screening mammograms will prove to be negative.
The paradigm in diagnosis is to establish whether a lesion is benign or malignant.
