The PALMS project introduces a new method for improving the surface finish of parts produced by additive manufacturing. Utilizing electrochemical plasma technology, it aims to enhance the mechanical performance and aesthetics of components, particularly for aerospace and medical applications.
Additive manufacturing (AM) offers unprecedented design freedom and the possibility to produce lightweight optimised components that are impossible to make with traditional techniques; or bespoke components that would otherwise be prohibitively expensive if produced in small volumes.
