This project explores the transition from the Oldowan to Acheulean cultures, focusing on the biological and cultural factors involved. It aims to gather new data from Olduvai Gorge to better understand the evolutionary processes behind this significant technological change.
The disappearance of the earliest human culture, the Oldowan, and its substitution by a new technology 1.6 million years ago, the Acheulean, is one of the main topics in modern Paleoanthropology.
