The OPTIX project aims to develop a portable system for the standoff detection and identification of explosives from a safe distance of up to 20 meters. By utilizing complementary optical technologies, the system seeks to enhance security operations against threats posed by improvised explosive devices.
Terrorism is a real and growing threat to Europe and the world, and more than 60% of the terrorist attacks are carried out by the use of Improvised Explosive Devices.
