OPENMIND aims to develop a flexible production process for customized minimally invasive medical devices. By enabling on-demand manufacturing, the project seeks to meet specific physician needs during complex surgical procedures.

Currently, only a limited spectrum of devices for these interventions is available defined by the medical device manufacturers.
The physician has to choose from this available (predefined) product range.
