The openEO project develops a standardized interface for accessing and processing Earth observation data in the cloud. It aims to simplify cloud computing for users by providing a common platform that connects various cloud services, enabling easier data analysis and comparison across different providers.
The capabilities of the latest generation of Earth observation satellites to collect large volumes of diverse and thematically rich data are unprecedented.
For exploiting these valuable data sets, many research and industry groups have started to shift their processing into the cloud.
