This project investigates the mechanisms that protect certain cell types from cancer transformation. Using the Drosophila eye epithelium, it aims to explore gene expression differences and the role of long non-coding RNAs in cellular responses to oncogenic signals.
Oncogenesis is a complex multi-step process that involves the combination of genetic and epigenetic alterations for normal cells to turn into cancerous cells.
