OLYMPUS introduces a new method for managing online identities that balances privacy and strong identification. By distributing the identity management role across multiple authorities, it allows users to maintain privacy while interacting with service providers using standard devices.
At first sight, privacy and strong identity seem inherently at odds.
Indeed, if users are strongly identified during a transaction, then privacy is non-existent.
