This project focuses on creating high-dimensional entangled states of photons using orbital angular momentum, which could enhance quantum computing and cryptography. It aims to develop methods for entanglement swapping and explore applications in quantum technologies.
Entanglement swapping describes a process by which two particles with no common past can be entangled with one another.
Considered a key component of quantum repeater protocols, the method of entanglement swapping is also used for creating multipartite entangled states, such as Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states.
