This project addresses open problems in the intersection of operator algebra, probability, and group theory, building on significant past contributions. It aims to advance mathematical understanding through targeted research at the University of Copenhagen.
Starting with Voiculescu's pioneering work on free probability from 1983, there has for more than 25 years been a strong development in mathematical research on the interrelations between operator algebra theory, probability theory and group theory.
The PI has over the last 10 years made several important contributions to this development.
