This project investigates the chemistry of alkenes in the atmosphere, focusing on the reactions that produce Criegee intermediates, which play a crucial role in atmospheric processes. The research aims to enhance understanding of these intermediates using advanced spectroscopy techniques.
The last two hundred years have seen new anthropogenic emissions dramatically change the chemical composition and chemistry of the troposphere, creating a diverse set of atmospheric conditions based on location and level of human population.
Reducing climate change and reversing the negative impacts humans have on the atmosphere is a clear European Commission target moving forward towards 2020.
