This project focuses on developing a novel method for synthesizing a wide range of proteins linked to DNA, enabling the sequencing of full-length native proteins. It also aims to enhance nanopore technology for reading longer protein sequences, ultimately advancing the field of proteomics.
Nanopore is a breakthrough genomic sequencing tool with long read length, high accuracy, and high throughput in reading DNA.
However, it is the proteome that ultimately determines the cells phenotype, and tremendous efforts have been made to develop sequencing techniques for reading proteins in the past decade.
