The NOVARA project aims to create hypoallergenic variants of Amb a 1, the primary allergen in ragweed pollen, for use in allergy immunotherapy. By engineering these variants, the project seeks to minimize side effects while maintaining effectiveness in treating allergies.

The aim of the proposed Marie Curie Fellowship, NOVARA, is to engineer hypoallergenic Amb a 1, the major allergen of ragweed pollen, for use as new vaccine candidates for allergen-specific immunotherapy (SIT).
