This project investigates the regulation of the mTOR complex 1, a key player in cell growth and metabolism, particularly in response to amino acids. It aims to uncover Rag-independent mechanisms of mTORC1 activation, which could lead to new drug targets for related diseases.
The mTOR complex 1 (mTORC1) is a master regulator of cell growth and metabolism in response to environmental cues, such as nutrients.
Its dysregulation is a common feature of several life-threatening disorders, including cancer and metabolic disease.
