This project explores the role of long non-coding RNAs in DNA replication and their implications in cancer biology. By investigating how these RNAs interact with chromatin, the research aims to uncover their potential as therapeutic targets for cancer treatment.
A major shift in our conception of genome regulation has emerged in recent years.
It is now obvious that the majority of cellular transcripts do not code for proteins, and a significant subset of them are long RNAs (lncRNAs).
My lab and others have shown that lncRNAs regulate genome function and gene expression, and that alterations in lncRNAs are inherent to disease, including cancer.
