This project focuses on enhancing optical imaging techniques to achieve sub-micron resolution in deep biological tissues. By combining wavefront shaping and photoacoustic methods, it aims to improve imaging capabilities for biomedical applications.
Focusing light to the (sub)micron scale is the enabling element in many important biomedical and industrial applications, such as optical microscopy and laser nano-surgery.
However, the inherent inhomogeneity of biological tissues induces light scattering which limits effective focusing to shallow depths of a few hundred microns.
