NIRWOOD aims to develop a commercial system using Near-Infrared Technology to identify the quality and origin of wooden products on-site. This solution addresses challenges related to illegal logging and ensures compliance with regulations for woodworking companies in the EU.
Roundwood production in the EU-28 amounts 425 million m³ (EU is the largest producer within the G20).
