For the next-generation broadband optical access networks, some new technologies have been proposed, including wavelength division multiplexing- passive optical networks (WDM-PON), optical code division multiplexing-PON (OCDM-PON), and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing-PON (OFDM-PON).
