This project focuses on developing advanced nanowire solar cells to enhance the efficiency and reduce the cost of solar energy. It aims to integrate III-V nanowire subcells with silicon solar cells using innovative growth techniques.
Nanowire solar cells are an innovative and promising way to further reduce the cost of photovoltaic electricity for terrestrial applications.
Accordingly, the ultimately goal of this project is to develop a multi-junction solar cell composed of an array of III-V nanowire subcells, electrically connected to a state-of-the-art Si solar cell.
