The NEWSUSE project addresses the decline in news consumption among citizens, which contributes to democratic challenges. It aims to create models and tools to enhance the use of quality news, thereby increasing resilience against populism and misinformation.
Populism, polarisation, and wavering support for democratic norms are pressing threats to the EU. NEWSUSE seeks to explain and remedy these threats by bringing the problem of insufficient news consumption to the forefront.
