The NeutroFlow project aims to develop a non-invasive blood test to predict the effectiveness of cancer immunotherapy. By measuring a specific type of neutrophil in the blood, the test seeks to improve patient selection for treatment and reduce unnecessary costs and side effects.
The recent introduction of cancer immunotherapy based on immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has revolutionised the treatment landscape for a broad range of cancer types.
However, response to ICIs varies widely between patients, with the majority experiencing resistance to therapy.
