This project investigates how certain nuclear RNAs contribute to the long-term stability of neurons, focusing on their role in maintaining neural identity and function. By exploring epigenetic mechanisms, it aims to uncover links between RNA stability and age-related neurological diseases.
Neurons in the brain must function for a life-time with limited replacement; thus, they need to robustly maintain their identity and function.
Understanding the mechanisms underlying the longevity and persistence of neurons will be key for preventing and treating age-related neurological diseases.
