This project investigates the visual system adaptations in zebrafish to understand how they process visual information. Using advanced imaging techniques and virtual reality, it aims to explore the relationship between visual input and behavior across different life stages of the fish.
All visual systems are specialised to best serve an animal’s sensory niche, yet how such specialisations are achieved through phylogenetic and developmental adaptations of the ‘common vertebrate visual system blueprint’ are poorly understood.
