This project explores the mechanisms of visual perception and cognition by investigating feedback connections in the brain. Using advanced techniques, it aims to understand how these feedback pathways influence visual processing and attention in monkeys, with implications for cognitive disorders.
We need to understand the brain mechanisms of perception and cognition in order to develop treatments for disorders in which these abilities fail, such as schizophrenia, attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder or autism.
