This project investigates how experience alters the functioning of neurons in the primary visual cortex of mice. It focuses on the role of specific inhibitory neurons in enhancing visual responses, with implications for understanding visual recovery in conditions like amblyopia and autism.
The overall theme of this proposal is to understand how cortical circuits are modified by experience. I propose to determine the cellular and synaptic basis of long-term experience-dependent potentiation of visual responses in the adult primary visual cortex.
