This project aims to establish Drosophila sechellia as a model organism for studying the evolution of behavior and nervous systems. By comparing it with closely related species, the research will explore genetic and neuroanatomical adaptations linked to its unique ecological niche.
How animals’ extraordinarily diverse behaviors have evolved is unknown.
