The NEPTUNE project aims to develop a new type of ion source for applications in space missions and nanotechnology. It focuses on extracting bipolar charged particles from low-temperature plasma to enhance particle beam technology.
The main goal of the proposed NEPTUNE project (“New generation of ion sources: from deep space missions to upstream nano-technologies”) is to enhance the understanding of the physics and exploit the benefits of bipolar charged particle extraction from low temperature plasma.
The first NEPTUNE prototype will be built and tested during the project implementation.
