The NeMoFoil project aims to develop a wireless grid system for monitoring brain activity in patients with neurological disorders. By embedding microelectronics in a thin sheet, it seeks to improve communication between the brain and external devices, enhancing patient care and interaction.
For certain neurological disorders it is necessary to record electrical signals directly from the brain.
Intracranial neuromonitoring is indicated for several neuropathologies, such as for localization of the source of seizures in epilepsy patients for surgical removal, or closely watching neurological status in intensive care (eg stroke, brainswelling), typically lasting days to weeks.
