This project focuses on advancing the understanding of nucleotide-based post-translational modifications (nbPTMs) in proteins, which are crucial for health and disease. By developing new methodologies for analyzing these complex modifications, the project aims to uncover novel types and improve proteomic analyses.
Nucleotide-based post-translational modifications (nbPTMs) play key roles in health and disease, from bacterial pathogenesis to cancer.
However, technical challenges of these versatile, but chemically complex protein modifications have constrained our fundamental understanding of even the most intensely studied nbPTMs for decades.
