NaTOS is a project developing a novel biosensor that monitors molecular interactions without labels. Utilizing plasmonic gold nanorods, the sensor detects changes in light scattering caused by proteins, allowing for the identification of specific analytes based on their thermal behavior.

Nanoscale Thermo Optical Sensing is the concept of a new truly label free bio-sensor device capable of monitoring transient molecular interactions.
The sensor utilizes plasmonic gold nanorods (NR) as both nanoscale heating source and optical near field sensor.
