NanosamplinK develops a minimally-invasive method for sampling historical manuscripts using specially formulated gels. These gels aim to extract color applications while preserving the integrity of the materials, focusing on both modern reproductions and real case studies in conservation and restoration.
NanosamplinK is an innovative research project that aims at developing a minimally-invasive sampling protocol for historical manuscripts and documentary materials.
It involve the use of several formulations of hydrogels and organogels which will serve as a conduit for solubilizing and absorbing the superficial layers of colored applications, preserving the integrity of the materials being analyzed.
