This project aims to develop cost-effective nanoscale photovoltaic elements using self-assembled organic materials. It investigates the electronic properties of p-n interfaces at the molecular level to enhance the efficiency of solar energy conversion.
Engineering of cheap nanoscale elements based on self-assembled organic molecular materials with spatially distributed p-n interfaces is envisaged as a promising alternative to the expensive inorganic photovoltaic cells.
