NanOptCD focuses on enhancing circular dichroism spectroscopy by using plasmonic nanoparticles to amplify weak signals from molecules. The project aims to develop theoretical models and practical tools for better analysis and application of these enhanced signals in research and development.
NanOptCD aims to facilitate the sensitive use of plasmonic enhanced circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy in research & development (R&D).
Many molecules possess weak CD signals below the measurable limit.
Interactions of molecules with plasmonic nanoparticles are very promising for generating strongly enhanced CD signals.
Nevertheless, this enhancement mechanism needs further theoretical characterisation in order to facilitate mature applications in R&D.
