This project focuses on developing miniaturized optical sources, specifically nanoscale semiconductor lasers, to enhance energy efficiency and speed in communication systems. By investigating their dynamics, the project aims to improve on-chip optical interconnects for ultra-fast data processing.
Reducing the energy consumption and increasing the density of interconnects have been identified as one of the major challenges in the development of future computing and communication systems.
