NanoHOUSE focuses on assessing the environmental health and safety impacts of nanomaterials used in building products like paints and coatings. The project aims to develop methods for evaluating risks and opportunities throughout the life cycle of these nanoproducts to enhance sustainability and safety in construction.
NanoHOUSE intends to create a holistic and prospective view on the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) impacts of nanoproducts used in house building, namely paints and coatings.
The latter are using relatively high amounts of Engineered NanoParticles (ENPs) such as nano-Ag and nano-TiO2 which will be investigated. A new Life Cycle Thinking (LCT) approach will be developed gathering two complementary aspects:
