This project explores the theoretical aspects of optical drag forces generated by Bessel beams on particles near optical nanofibers. It aims to demonstrate these forces and investigate their implications for quantum optics and light manipulation.
Recently, it has been shown theoretically that strongly non-paraxial Bessel beams can exert an optical force on a particle that drags the latter towards the light source.
However, an experimental verification of the existence of an optical drag force (ODF) with Bessel beams is very challenging.
