This project investigates the use of nanoparticles coated with specific peptide-MHC complexes to modulate immune responses in type 1 diabetes. By promoting the formation of regulatory T-cells and B-cells, it aims to restore normal blood sugar levels while maintaining overall immune function.
The complexity of autoimmune responses is a barrier to the design of strategies that can selectively purge the immune system of autoreactivity without impairing systemic immunity.
