This project focuses on developing bioartificial organs using human induced pluripotent stem cells and advanced materials. The goal is to create a highly vascularized extracorporeal bioartificial liver to improve organ transplantation outcomes and reduce rejection issues.
Organ transplantation is often the only life saving medical approach for several diseases, in spite of many associated problems (lack of organ donors, rejection, life-long heavy medication).
